Who we are

Greenacre Area Community Centre (GACC) has been in operation since 1997 as a not-for-profit community organisation.
Programs and services have evolved in response to community needs and the availability of funding. Over the years GACC has maintained its focus on providing child- and family-focussed services. Our particular focus is on children, youth, families, and community strengthening/community capacity-building programs for the whole community, including those who are isolated or disadvantaged.
We have built strong local networks, and we collaborate with other agencies to increase the community’s access to services and programs. We are active members of the Canterbury Bankstown Domestic Violence Liaison Committee, and our staff sit on various committees and community interagency groups.
Our Mission
Our mission is to engage and work with the community to improve the wellbeing of the residents of the Greenacre area, by addressing disadvantage, in order to create an inclusive and supportive community.
Our Purpose
Greenacre Area Community Centre provides a range of services and activities that address local issues and strengthen our community. We are a central access point for information, support and community engagement. We offer a safe, welcoming space for all, with a focus on expanding opportunities for people who are disadvantaged.
Our Vision
An inclusive, empowered, and engaged community.

We work in a way which is honest, right, and fair.

Inclusive
We work to create a community where everyone feels they belong, no matter who they are, where they were born, what religion they practice or what their life journey has been.
Collaborative
We promote genuine community engagement and participation. We listen to the community so we can continually improve. We build partnerships and collaborate with our colleagues inside and outside of the organisation.
